Margaret M. “Marge” Crofford, of Iselin died Friday, January 16th at Haven Hospice at the JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 93.
Born in Jersey City, she has lived in Iselin since the late 1950s.
She worked as a Telephone Operator for New York Phone Company in New York City for many years until she married her husband, Arthur J. Crofford in 1951.
Marge was a parishioner of St. Cecelia’s RC Church in Iselin as well as a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a Charter Member of the American Irish Association of Woodbridge, where she was nominated as the Irish Person of the Year in 2006.
Her husband, Arthur died in 1976. She was also predeceased by her son, Dr. John Crofford in 2000. Surviving are her children, , Darleen Crofford-Kranowski , Susan Crofford (Edward Vasquez) ,Margaret Crofford-Constable (Dr. Richard Constable),Arthur and Chris Crofford and Frank. Crofford of Clearwater, Florida; granddaughters, Kimberly Crofford and Kelly Vasquez; and nephew, Hughie “Mike” Dolan (Karen Dolan) of North Carolina.
