Bart J. Evans, of Colonia died Thursday, January 5th surrounded by his loving family at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.  He was 59.

Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Rahway and Hopelawn before moving to Colonia 27 years ago.

He worked as a Supervisor for Atlas Data Systems/Merck & Co. in Rahway for the past 11 years.

Bart enjoyed attending car shows and air shows, playing the part of 'Mr. Fix-It' around the house and especially spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed watching Dr. Who and Monty Python's Flying Circus.  He will be remembered for his love, generosity and especially for his unique sense of humor.

He is predeceased by his father, Elmer Evans; and brother, Mark Evans.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Anita Marie; son and daughter-in-law, Nick & Kristy of Woodbridge; daughter, Sammy Evans of Woodbridge; mother, Martha Evans of California; sister and brother-in-law, Gail & Tom Dodds of Pennsylvania; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is also survived many best friends that he considered brothers.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9th from 5-9 PM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10th at 8:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 AM Mass at St. John Vianney RC Church, Colonia.  Burial to follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105, or to Make-A-Wish New Jersey, Samuel & Josephine Plumeri Wishing Place, 1347 Perrineville Road, Monroe Township, New Jersey 08831.
