William Trenery Obituary

William G. Trenery II passed on February 22, 2024, after a brief illness. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Susie, and is survived by his daughter, Jenny, and her partner, Thalia; son, Bill, and daughter-in-law Tracy; grandchildren, Billy and Evie; brother, Joe, and extended brothers and sisters, Patty and Kevin Higgins; Mary Jane and Rodger Ward; Bill and JoAnn Northgrave, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and many friends.

Born in February 1952, Bill spent his entire adult life as a sworn law-enforcement officer in the Woodbridge Police Department, serving in every role in the Department, beginning as a cadet in 1971 and retiring as Chief after serving 20 years in that role in 2011. He gave his heart and soul to the job, transforming the Department in the process. When he wasn’t working, Bill and Susie dedicated themselves to living a full life, exploring North America and Europe by motorcycle, fishing, scuba diving, and traveling as frequently as they could, often with their extended family. He was a man of few words, but every word he ever spoke was important and was worth listening to. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
