William “Bill” Myshka , beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024 at the age of 94 in Somerset NJ. He was a strong and loving man.
He was born and raised in Rahway, NJ by his parents Mary and Benjamin. He was a proud Marine and fought in the Korean War. He went on to become a graduate of Rutgers University which he enthusiastically supported his entire life. He had a long and happy career working for the Social Security Administration for 38 years. Being a big NY METS fan he never missed a game. Bill was a very avid reader, as attested by the many full bookcases in his home. Between the many spy novels and biographies he was always on top of the Stock Market. More than anything else he was supportive of his family. He coached Little League and taught his children to fish and play ball. He was a strong advocate of education and sent all of his children to college.
Bill was survived by his wife of 60 years, Sheila. His 5 children and their spouses; Christine and Carmen Loccario, Anne and Joe Amory, William and Diane Myshka, Nancy and Jose Santos and Robert Myshka and his 6 grandchildren; Jennifer, Joseph, David, Sarah, Christopher and Benjamin.
Bill was very proud and happy of the life he lived. He leaves a legacy behind that we all hope to make him proud of. Services will be held at The Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Rd, Edison NJ. Viewing will be from 5pm to 8 pm Wednesday July 31, and Mass will be held at 10:00am at St Helena’s RC Church at 950 Grove Ave, Edison NJ.
