Walter Joseph Hamilton

Walter Joseph Hamilton, 82, passed away on June 8, 2023, in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Born on November 17, 1940, in New York City, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Margaret (Curran) Hamilton. Walter was a kind and caring man who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Walter is survived by his four children, Patricia (Tom) Roarty of Rahway, Ed (Jennifer) Hamilton of Rockville Centre, New York, Peter (Jessica Piotrowski) Hamilton of Hoboken, Deirdre (Brian) Tolly of Ponte Vedra, Florida, as well as his grandchildren, Jack Roarty, Colin Hamilton, Andrew Roarty, Thomas Roarty, Braden Hamilton, Emma Tolly, Kate Tolly, Annabella Hamilton, Brennan Tolly, and Liam Tolly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Hamilton, and his grandson, Devin Hamilton.

Walter received his higher education at Iona College. He worshipped at St. John Vianney Church in Colonia, New Jersey.

Services for Walter will be held at St. John Vianney Church in Colonia, New Jersey, on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Chelsea at Fanwood or Grace Hospice.
