Vito B. Pavese, age 87, was born in Vallata, Italy, on March 17, 1938, and passed away peacefully at his home on February 4, 2026. Vito spent six years in Venezuela learning to become a master shoe crafter. After coming to America in 1959, he opened a shoe repair shop, where he worked for 40 years before retiring.
Vito’s talents extended far beyond repairing shoes, he could fix or build anything. He enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family, and sharing stories and Italian traditions with his grandchildren. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 63 years, Maria Luisa DiCosmo Pavese.
He is survived by his four children: Maria Buttitta (husband John), Anna DeCicco (husband Rosario), Rocco Pavese (wife Miriam), and Tina Giordano (husband Anthony); and by his 10 loving grandchildren, Peter, Vito, Nicholas, Rocco Jr., Gabriella, Angela, Victoria, Francesca, Anthony, and Giulianna.
Also surviving are his brothers, Antonio Pavese and Lucio Pavese, and his sisters, Concetta Ferrara and Maria Giuliano.
