Vito Jaskolka, age 78 of Edison, passed away peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick on October 9, 2020. Born in Poland in 1942, Vito grew up in Sewaren and Woodbridge. He graduated from St. Stephen's Grammar School in Perth Amboy and Woodbridge High School in 1961.

While in high school he was employed at Howard Johnsons on the NJ Turnpike.

He served in the 6th Army at Fort Ord, California from 1964-1966.

He worked as an electrician out of Local 358 which later merged with Local 456. One of his assignments was servicing Hess gas stations. Although he retired in 2001, he continued to talk about how much he missed working as an electrician.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, fixing things, vacationing in Maine and going to car shows with his 1966 GTO Red Convertible. He was known for his great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was very proud of his Polish heritage.

He was predeceased by parents Kazimiera  (Koch) and Joseph (Jaskolka), sister Hedy Pond and first wife Regina (Szulimowski). He is survived by his loving wife Rona (Cichocky), daughter Stacey Scealf (Steven), granddaughter Hayley Craft (Antoni) and great-grandaughter Marlee Arcuri, niece Linda Pond Rindos and her children Bradley and Jessica, nephew Richard Pond (Maureen) and his children Ryan and Collin, step-children Michael (Mayda), Manny (Michele), Lea (Mark), step-grandchildren Steven, Ariana, Brianna, Justin, Ethan, Alexandra and Braden, brother-in-law’s Bob (Linda) and Herb, sister-in-law’s Sandi and Donna (Rod) and many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews and many friends.
