Vincent Pegnataro, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 3, in South Plainfield, New Jersey.
Born on November 27, 1942, Vincent was the son of the late Vincent and Angelina Pegnataro. He grew up in Jersey City and Washington Township before settling in Park Ridge and later South Plainfield, where he spent his later years.
Vincent began his career in the supermarket industry at the age of 16, a path that would span an impressive 50 years. He started at the local Acme, continued with Inserra ShopRite stores, and eventually retired from Foodtown of Colonia, where he proudly served as Store Manager for the final 25 years of his career. His dedication, leadership, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Maria (Campanella); his sons, Vincent, Dean (and his wife Teri), and Dominick; and his daughter, Debra (and her wife Nicole). He will also be deeply missed by his cherished grandchildren, Shayleigh and Dean; his mother-in-law, Lucy Campanella; and his brother-in-law, John Campanella. and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Pamela (Faivre).
In his free time, Vincent enjoyed playing golf and vacationing in Aruba, places where he found relaxation and happiness. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Saint John Vianney Church, 420 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ.
Entombment will follow at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia,
