Thomas Flynn, Sr Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas J. Flynn Sr., who left us peacefully on October 2, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on, February 25th 1935, Thomas J. Flynn Sr. lived a full life defined by hard work, love, and resilience.

For much of his life, Thomas J. Flynn Sr. worked as a truck driver and a warehouse associate with dedication and determination to provide for his family. Throughout his life, Tom (who went by many nicknames Pee-Wee – Sam – Louie, he answered to all of them) worked hard to provide for his family, always ensuring their well-being. His life was defined by his selflessness, always willing to help others, and he gave his time, energy, and care without hesitation. He was known for his strong work ethic and the pride he took in his family and work. He loved to work and continued until he was 85 years young!

Thomas J. Flynn Sr. married the love of his life, Elaine Paczkowski, who he met when she was 11 in Newark, and they shared many beautiful years together. Together, they raised four boys, each a reflection of their Father and Mother’s strength and values. Tragically, he lost her at the age of 61, but he carried her memory for years. Having the opportunity to find love again with Anita Brinker, which he continued to live his life with her to its fullest, with his extended family her sons Robert and Scott, their wives and her 5 grandchildren.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and the countless memories shared with his family. Thomas J. Flynn Sr. is survived by and will be deeply missed by his children, Thomas, John (pre-deceased), Joseph and Timothy, their wives, Lisa, Fran, Jean and Paula; numerous grandchildren, Thomas, John Jr., Tara, Maggie, Clare, Olivia, Patrick and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Jake, Juliona, and Gabby; and all who knew him, cherishing his memory forever.

He will be remembered for his strength, amazing work ethic, gentle smile, and the memories created while he journeyed through his life. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught his children, grandchildren and countless others about hard work, perseverance, and the importance of family.

A service will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the St. Jude’s Hospital.

Rest in peace, Thomas J. Flynn Sr. your memories will live on forever, and you are reunited with those you loved.
