Thomas W Crouse

With heavy hearts we announce that Thomas William Crouse passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, NJ. He lived in his hometown of Avenel, NJ for 22 years and lived in Sewaren, NJ for 19 years. Tom also loved to spend time at his retirement home in Lake Ariel, PA., bird watching, playing golf, and relaxing. Tom worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for Stolt & Kinder Morgan in Sewaren for 30 years before retiring in 2008. He owned his own lawn care business, Lawn Dude Lawn Care, from 2006 to 2018. Tom was a ride or die life long New York Mets fan. Tom and Linda enjoyed going to wineries, traveling, and spending time with friends. He was a member of the Avenel VFW Post 7164 from 1989 and proudly served as post Commander from 2017-2018 and 2019-2020.Tom’s hobbies included listening to classic rock, classic cars, and car racing at Englishtown Raceway.

 
Tom served in Phu Loi, Vietnam with the 213th from August to January. In January, he transferred to DaNang with the 203rd Wildcats. While in DaNang he volunteered to be an advisor to the Vietnamese and was transferred to Phu Cat attaches to AFAT 2 (Air Force Advisory Team 2). He was in DaNang for the Easter Tide Offensive when North Vietnam started to overrun South Vietnam. He saw a lot of heavy combat then. He arrived in Vietnam in August 1971 and left Vietnam in August 1972.

Thomas was predeceased by his parents Eunice and William Crouse. He is survived by his wife, Linda Crouse; Daughter and son in law, Jennie and Matthew Rider; Daughter and son in law, Allison and Hector Sabio; Grandson, Braxton Rider; Sisters, Nancy Klein and Marcel Deluca, and brother Robert Crouse. 

Visitation Friday September 18, 2020 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Gosselin Funeral Home 660 New Dover Road Edison. Funeral Services Saturday September 19, 2020 at 9:00am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00am Service at the New Dover United Methodist Church, Edison. 

Seating in the sanctuary of the New Dover United Methodist Church, for the service, will be limited to 51. Please follow the direction of the ushers.
There will be an overflow section in the front parking lot next to the sanctuary.
Masks and social distancing will be required for both the sanctuary and the overflow area.
