Stephen J Novosedlik

Stephen J. Novosedlik passed away on January 6, 2022 at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, N.J. Born on March 15, 1951 in Newark, N.J., Steve grew up in Newark and fondly remembered his youth and St. Lucy’s Church. Steve was known for his easy-going nature, his sense of humor, and his willingness to help out. He loved his family and friends. Above all else, he was immensely proud of his daughters, loving them, their husbands, and their large dogs.

A graduate of Seton Hall University and its Law School, Steve served in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Secret Service, where he met his wife, Patricia. Dedicated to law enforcement, Steve was a private investigator for many years, living and working in Woodbridge, N.J. He was employed by Open Road Volvo in Edison and was fond of his Volvo colleagues.

A devout Catholic, Steve served on the Bereavement Support Group at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Woodbridge, where he had many friends.

Steve was predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia Novosedlik (2000). Surviving are his daughters Emily Novosedlik and her husband, John Dalton; and Hillary Novosedlik and her husband, Dan Skawski.  He is also survived by his sister, Marie Dursin, and his niece, Stephanie Dursin.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington Borough, N.J.
