Stacey Michaels - Portillo

Stacey Portillo passed away at Robert Wood Johnson hospital on March 25th, 2021. She was born on February 21st, 1970 in Rahway. She grew up in Colonia and eventually settled in Milltown, where she and her husband raised their family.

Stacey was extremely dedicated to raising her family. She also loved her role of grandma or “Gunda” as she was called. Her family and friends fulfilled her life. She was loyal ,trustworthy, and protective. If you were lucky enough to have Stacey in your life, you knew that you had a life long confidante. The world lost a beautiful soul when we lost Stacey.

Stacey was predeceased by her grandparents Viola and Carmine Mazza, her mother and father Louella and John Michaels, and her brother Larry Donato. Surviving are her husband Jose Portillo, her sons Govanni, Nick, and Danny Portillo, his wife, Elizabeth, and grand daughter Elianny. Also surviving are her brother Johnny Michaels and sister Alecia Michaels and best friend, Monica Capella. Stacey is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and uncles.

Stacey loved butterflies, the color purple, and lilacs. The family respectfully asks that if sending flowers, they be in that color.

Visitation will be held on Sunday March 28th from 2:00 - 5:00 at Gosselin Funeral Home 660 New Dover Road Edison New Jersey 08820. All to meet at church. Mass starts 9:30 am at St. John Vianney Church Colonia. Internment St. Gertrude's Cemetery.
