Salvatore F Lavante

Salvatore Lavante, a long-time resident of Colonia, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Mt. Olive, NJ.  Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Sal was 90 years old and moved to Colonia in 1963.

For most of his professional career, Sal was a sales manager at OK Towel and Linens in Elizabeth, NJ.  Sal’s passions were golf, good food, watching sports on TV and socializing with friends.  He enjoyed playing golf regularly with friends and family until his later years.  Sal enjoyed Italian food and always possessed a good appetite until the very end!

Sal is predeceased by his wife Anne and son Frank.  He is survived by his daughter, Susan Palumbo, son-in-law Joe Palumbo, granddaughters Madison Palumbo and Drew Palumbo of Flanders, NJ.  He is also survived by his two sisters, Nancy Cope of Pinellas Park, FL, Geraldine Strickland of Ormond Beach, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday August 4, 2023, at St John Vianney Church, Colonia. Entombment to follow at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodbridge.
