Salvatore P Guida

Salvatore P. Guida, 95, of Longwood, Florida, passed away on Thursday, March 10th, 2022. A life-long resident of New Jersey, Salvatore was born in Newark, N.J., and worked for the Breyers Ice Cream company. After his service in the US Army in Bad-Hersfeld, Germany in the 1940s, he returned to work at the Worthington Gamon Calmet Meter Corporation of Newark, manufacturing industrial water meters. He subsequently became the Chief Operator of the Rahway Water Department for nearly two decades until his retirement in 1990.

Salvatore was a loving husband to his wonderful wife, Carmela, who has been missed terribly since her untimely passing in 1991.  He is predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe Guida and Antonina Cusumano Guida; his beloved brothers Joseph, Geraldo, and Frank Guida; beloved sisters Rosaria (Rose), the very recently deceased and sorely missed Jenny (Giovannina) Valvano, and Gaetana (Ida) Pagano; nephews Robert Giordano and Pasquale Pagano.

Salvatore is survived by his devoted daughter Annette Damiano and son-in-law Joseph Damiano of Forked River, sons John Guida of Longwood, Florida, and Joseph Guida of Scottsdale, Arizona; loving grandchildren Samantha Damiano-Ensor and great-granddaughter Madelyn of Loudonville, NY, and grandsons Christian Damiano of Forked River, and Matthew, Michael and Christopher Guida of Scottsdale, Arizona.   He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A one-hour visitation will be at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ 08820 from 9:00 – 10:00AM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, followed by a Roman Catholic service at the Church of St. Helena, 950 Grove Avenue, Edison, NJ 08820 at 10:30AM. Interment will immediately follow at the St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.   The repast will follow at the LouCas Italian Seafood Grill, 9 Lincoln Highway, Edison, NJ.   In lieu of flowers, please consider a generous donation to your favorite charity
