Rossie Riley, born on July 25, 1960, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, at the age of 64. Rossie was a person of deep compassion and kindness, qualities that were evident to all who knew them. Though not religious, Rossie believed in the teachings of Christianity and lived a life that reflected those values.
Throughout their life, Rossie was a devoted member of their community, actively participating in the Teamsters Union where they dedicated much of their time and energy. Their commitment to helping others and fostering a sense of solidarity and support was a testament to their generous spirit.
Rossie is survived by their beloved sister, Acqueline Riley, and their cherished partner, Michelle Johnson. They are predeceased by their grandmother, Louise LaGarde; grandfather, Warren LaGarde Sr.; and mother, Evelyn LaGarde. The bonds Rossie shared with their family and loved ones were profound and enduring, offering warmth and comfort to all who were fortunate to be part of their life.
In remembering Rossie, we are reminded of the simple yet profound wisdom they lived by: "Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you." This guiding principle was evident in every interaction and relationship they nurtured. Rossie's legacy of kindness and community involvement will continue to inspire and resonate with those they leave behind.
