Rosemarie Sharkey

Rosemarie (“Roe”) Sharkey (nee Christini) of Colonia, NJ, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and godmother passed away peacefully at RWJ Barnabas Hospital in Rahway on December 12, 2025.  She was 78 years old.

Roe was predeceased by her loving parents, Anthony and Marie Christini and is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Stephen of 59 years, daughters Jana Lynch, Jacqueline Ponik; sons-in-law Joseph Lynch and George Ponik; granddaughter Daniella Lynch and grandsons Nicholas Lynch and Christopher Ponik.

She is also survived by her loving and devoted sister Carol (“Cookie”) Shear; a brother Louis Christini as well as many cherished godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

After years of devoting herself to the raising of her children, she worked for 30 years with the dental practice of Eugene and Jan Leahy in Woodbridge, NJ. before her retirement.

Roe will always be remembered for the joy she brought to everyone she met and the loyalty to those people she loved…she had touched so many lives along the way.  Her memory and her love will live on eternally in the hearts and minds of all those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Rosemarie’s memory.
