Rosemarie V Ricciardi

It’s with deep sorrow and unmeasured love that we mourn the passing of Rosemarie (Roe) Vivian Ricciardi, who left us peacefully on July 30th, 2025 at 6:23 pm at the age of 78, at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida 

Rosemarie was born in Garfield, New Jersey to her parents Frank Catalioto and Rita Catalioto (Buchino) and was raised in Newark, New Jersey with her sister Sherry Catalioto (Masella) and they shared a formidable bond. 

Rosemarie met Joseph Ricciardi in grammar school when they were 8 years old at 14th Avenue Grammar School, they attended different high school’s and reconnected shortly after graduating with some mutual friends. After finding each other, they were inseparable thereafter, as Roe and Joe began their marriage journey February 13th, 1966 at the age of 19. One year after marriage, they welcomed their first son in 1967 (Joseph Ricciardi JR), then the second son (Frank Ricciardi) in 1968 and lastly the third son in 1971 (Carmine Ricciardi). They started their family in Newark, New Jersey until 1978, then transitioned by buying a house in Iselin, NJ. They raised their children and helped raised their 7 grandchildren in that house for more than 40 years with a significant connection, Italian family traditions and unconditional love and support. She has been married to Joseph Ricciardi SR for over 59 years and they loved doing everything together, including endless trips to the casino, stores, restaurants and much more. They decided to make a move to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in July of 2023 and moved into the East Point Towers where she made plenty of friends in the community and loved to go down by the pool, sunbathe, exercise in the pool and chat for hours with friends and family. She particularly enjoyed her Eggo waffles daily, her weekly visits with family and adventurous times on the slot machines (“C’mon Buffalo’s she exclaimed”!). 

Rosemarie Ricciardi’s biggest passion outside of her family and friends was providing top class treatments in hair and nail services. She became a successful hairstylist business owner in her early adulthood after receiving her beauty license as a teenager. Rosemarie ran the business (Ricci’s Coffeur) for 11 years, even while working other jobs 7 days a week to support our family for many years. After moving on from the business, her creative nature, dedication to the craft, and driven desire to care for people, she then decided to become an Adult Cosmetology Teacher in Middlesex County and provided teaching services at Middlesex Vocational and Technical school in Piscataway for 27 years. She had a special relationship with all of her students and she cared immensely about each one of them and even kept in contact post-graduation with many students throughout the years. 

Rosemarie was preceded in death by her mother Rita Catalioto, and her father Frank Catalioto. She was also preceded by Carmine (Butch) Vito Ricciardi (Brother-in-law) who she grew very close to over the years. 

She is survived by: 

· Her beloved Husband and soulmate Joseph Ricciardi SR. 

· Joseph John Ricciardi Jr (son) and his wife Phyllis Ricciardi (daughter-in-law) and their three sons Antonio, Sergio and Giovanni Ricciardi (grandsons). 

· Frank Anthony Ricciardi (son) and his wife Tracey Della Pesca (daughter-in-law) and their two children Rachel E. Morin and Lorenzo Michael Ricciardi (grandchildren)

· Carmine Vito Ricciardi (son) and his wife Jacqueline Ricciardi (daughter-in-law) and their two children Joshua Michael Ricciardi and Carmine Vito Ricciardi (grandsons).
