Rosaria "Rose" DiCapua

Rose Di Capua, of Iselin peacefully passed away on Friday, February 23rd with her family by her side.  She was 88.

Rose was born on December 8, 1935 to Giuseppe and Angelina Salvano and raised in Newark with nine siblings.  Rose and her husband Nick raised their family of six children in Iselin since 1965.  

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family.  Much of her time was devoted to her family through three generations including taking care of and supporting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved to travel and was an active member of her church.  She enjoyed every Sunday after mass cooking pasta for family and friends.  Those who were fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to drop in on any given Sunday will surely miss her sauce and meatballs. 

Those left to cherish her memory are at peace knowing she is now with her soulmate of 60 years.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Nicholas, her son Michael, and two grandchildren Christopher and Dawn. 
 

Surviving are her five children, Nicholas of Menlo Park Terrace, Frederick of Myrtle Beach, Joseph and his wife Tina of Keyport; daughters, Joann Di Capua of Iselin and Doreen Ziegler and her husband, Eric of Manalapan; five grandchildren, Michael, Christina and her husband Nick, Melissa, Anthony and Ryan; and two great grandchildren, Ava and Jace.  

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 28 at 8:45 AM at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, followed by a 10:15 AM Mass at St. Cecelia Church, Iselin. Burial to follow in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27 4:00 – 8:00PM at the funeral home.
