Ronald Syslo passed peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2022 after a long illness with Parkinson’s disease. Ron was born June 3, 1933, in Jersey City, NJ to Joseph and Jean Syslo. He attended Our Lady of Czestochowa School and Ferris High School. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and sang in the choir where he met his future wife, Pauline Liszewski. They married in November 1956 and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. In 1959, Ron became a father to a son, Joseph.
In 1960, Ron and his family moved to Colonia, NJ and lived the American dream. Ron worked for the US Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was active in the community, volunteering and becoming a life member of the Colonia Fire Department - District 12, a communicant of St. John Vianney Church and a Scouter to Boy Scout Troop 42.
Ron stayed active after retirement, becoming involved with the Polish Children’s Heartline and the Polish Cultural Foundation. He loved spending his days watching his grandsons and attending all their sporting events. Ron (Dziadzia) was their biggest fan. For many years he enjoyed spending time in the Poconos. He also loved to travel and arranged many group tours to Poland and Europe.
He is survived by his loving wife Pauline, his devoted son Joseph and daughter-in-law Cathy, his two grandsons, Michael and Luke, his brother Joseph as well as many cousins and friends.
