Ronald J. Fredericks, 73, of Monroe, New Jersey,
passed away on March 5, 2024 at Penn Medicine in
Plainsboro, New Jersey from pneumonia, acute
respiratory failure and septic shock. Born on October 3,
1950 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he was a communicant
of St. Patrick’s Church and attended its primary school.
He began his career in the radiology field and went on
to become a quality assurance team leader for the
Bechtel Engineering firm, then with Burns and Roe,
then Areva of Columbia, Maryland. His work took him
to cities all over the U.S., as well as Armenia, England,
Spain, Japan and India.
Ronald loved good music, bad horror movies and
traveling around the world. Photography was his
biggest passion outside of work; he took high-quality
photographs of places he visited, and especially of his
family. Thanks to his skills, the photos he took of
Grace Church in Newark enabled it to be listed on the
National Register of Historical Places.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Clara
Kalanta, his son, Douglas, brother Lawrence and sister-
in-law Geraldine. He is survived by his daughter, Katie
and her mother, Gayle, his sister Patricia Wysocki,
brother-in-law Edward, brother Richard, sister-in-law
Barbara, his brother Joseph, sister-in-law Linda and ten
nieces and nephews.
The memorial will be Friday, March 15th from 5pm to
7pm with a small service at 6pm at the Gosselin
Funeral Home at 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ
