Ronald C. Leidner passed away at his home on January 25, 2025, at the age of 68
Ron was a long-time resident of Woodbridge Township.
He drove a tractor trailer for 10 years before joining the Woodbridge Police Department
Lieutenant Leidner(Ret) worked 33 years with the Police Department. As a sworn officer he worked in the Radio Patrol Division, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant. Due to medical reasons, he retired in 2013. Although he greatly missed the muster training, working with individual officers each day, he felt it was in the best interest of the Department to retire at that time. He then took a part time position working in the Evidence Unit, finally leaving in 2020. Although he loved his profession, his family was always his first priority.
Ron was an Honorably Discharged enlisted member of the U.S. Marine Corps, a life member of the Honor Legion of the Police Department of the State of N.J., Life member of N.J. PBA Local 38, Life member H.O.G.(Harley Owners Group), Member of the N.R. A. (certified pistol instructor) and a member of N.J. PBA Local 600.
Ron was an avid NASCAR fan and loved riding his motorcycle we affectionally called his mistress.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy (Donnelly)Leidner of Iselin, his children, Stacy Elmore, Ronald Leidner, Jeff Leidner and his wife Allison, his sister Linda Kohm (Kevin), brother Carl Leidner and his dear friend Marcus Virdo. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alisa Elmore, Addison Leidner and Charles Leidner who he adored.
Donations can be made to Tunnels to Towers in his name or any other chartable organization of your choosing.
