With humble acceptance of God's will, we announce the passing of Roland Gonzalez, 61, of Edison, NJ. Roland passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Roland was born on June 27, 1964 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to Fe Esperanza and Nestor Gonzalez. He graduated from Perth Amboy High School in 1983. After graduation he joined the Marines with his long time friend, Art Castellanos.
Upon leaving the Marines in 1986, he met his future wife Debra Lambert and were together ever since. Roland worked as a service technician at PSE&G for more than 32 years.
Roland was a car enthusiast and a mechanical genius. He was the first one to help out a friend. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going on vacation to LBI, fixing things around the house and always made you laugh.
Roland was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Gonzalez, his parents Nestor and Fe Esperanza Gonzalez, and his father-in-law John Lambert.
He is survived by his loving wife Debra, sons Nicholas and Joshua, his siblings Ruth Gonzalez, Edward Gonzalez, and Jeannie Wicklund, and many nieces, nephews, family members, friends, his pugs and kitty. “Uncle Rollie will always be the best.”
He bravely battled cancer until his body finally gave up and was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “He was a man, take him for all in all, we shall not look upon his like again.”
Roland, we can no longer see you with our eyes, touch you with our hands, but we will always feel your heart, forever.
Roland fought the good fight, he finished the course, he kept the faith!
Rest easy our “beach angel” until we meet again…
