Roberto Paquiz Viray, 75, of Edison, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on January
6, 2024 after a courageous 3-year battle with lung cancer.
He was born on June 7, 1948 in Manila, Philippines and was one of seven children. He was
raised in Mangatarem, Pangasinan, where he met his wife, Consuelo Viray (née Orence). After
they married in 1978, Roberto immigrated to the United States in 1979. He moved to Queens,
New York, and settled in Edison, New Jersey in 1986, where they raised two children.
He worked for Morgan Stanley in the South Tower of the World Trade Center and was a 9/11
survivor. He enjoyed attending numerous family get-togethers, playing poker, singing karaoke at
home, and cooking, with Filipino BBQ and Food for the Gods being his specialty.
Roberto is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Consuelo, his daughter Stephanie Viray-
Lynch & son-in-law Gavin Lynch, his son Ariel (AJ) Viray & daughter-in-law Lillian Viray, and his
four grandchildren Anya Lynch, Vivienne Lynch, Lucas Viray, and Maya Viray. He is also
survived by his brother Antonio Viray and his sister Florence Madriaga.
