Robert A Pero, Jr.

Rob Pero, 55, of Colonia, NJ passed away on Tuesday May 2, 2023 surrounded by his wife and children at Newark Beth Israel Hospital after suffering from pulmonary fibrosis. 

Rob was born August 8, 1967 in Staten Island to his predeceased parents Robert A. Pero Sr. and Joan (Costello) Pero. Rob is survived by his wife Cindy, and their four children: Jake, Sam, Luke and Jillian as well as his daughter-in-law Nicole. Rob grew up in North Edison and at age 16 met the love of his life Cindy.They married July 10, 1992 and were married for 31 years. They traveled the country making memories and worked hard to make sure their children were loved every day.

Rob was a devoted husband and father. He was involved in coaching youth baseball, football, basketball and softball for all of his children and so many others in the community. As his children aged, he remained an active parent proudly watching his children graduate high school and college. Rob loved watching his children’s universities sports teams, Syracuse, NC State, West Virginia and Louisville. He also enjoyed country music, golf, and a nice glass of bourbon with his Bourbon Night Crew.  

Rob graduated from J.P. Stevens High School in 1985. He went on to have a career in computer science and most recently as a Medical Cost Analyst at AmeriHealth NJ. 

Rob gave the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 5:00 PM til 8:00 PM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 NEW DOVER ROAD, EDISON, NJ 08820. Funeral service will be on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Funeral Home from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM. Followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. John Vianney, Colonia, NJ. All services will conclude after church.
