Richard W. Brescia, 62, of Colonia, New Jersey, passed away on February 18, 2026. Born on October 15, 1963, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Richard was a lifelong New Jersey resident who touched the lives of many with his warmth, humor, and kind spirit. He was employed at Staples as a driver where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly nature.
Richard was predeceased by his beloved mother, Maryann Brescia, and his nephew, Joey Brescia. He is survived by his loving father, Richard Brescia; his devoted sister, Joy Citarella; his brother, Joe Brescia, and sister-in-law, Joyce Brescia; his cherished niece, Brittany Mailler; his nephews, Matt and Ryan Brescia; Martha Gibbons, who loved him as her own; and his extended family, the Mailler-Sarro family, who held a special place in his heart.
Fishing was Richard’s greatest passion. Some of his most cherished memories were spent on the boat with his dad or along the river with his friends and family. He loved the outdoors and found comfort and peace near the water. He also had a deep love for music and enjoyed exercising, always striving to stay active and energized. He loved to cook and took great joy in preparing meals to share with those he loved, especially the fish he caught. Richard had a truly big heart and would do anything for anyone. He loved to make people laugh and had a smile that could instantly brighten a room.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
