Peter Paul Kosty

Peter Paul Kosty, age 95, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2022.

Peter was born and raised in Rahway, NJ, to Charles and Anna Remeta Koszty. He was a Navy Veteran serving in word War II. He married Grace Depew in 1950 and they celebrated 72 years of marriage together. Peter built their house in Iselin, NJ and they moved there in 1960. He was a master plumber and had his own plumbing and heating company. Peter was an active volunteer in the local community and at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church as an Usher and Eucharistic Minister.

Peter loved to hunt and fish and was a member of Bell’s Rod and Gun Club for many years with his buddies. He also loved boating and was very active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for over 30 years, teaching safe boating and patrolling the waters from Sandy Hook to Staten Island.

He loved his visits to Italy and spending time in Cancun every year with friends and family.

He was predeceased by his 6 brothers, John Kosty, Charles Kosty, Michael Kosty, Emery Kosty, Joseph Kosty and George Koszty and 5 sisters, Mary Laggo, Anna Karol, Helen Soyka, Pauline Kroboth and Irene Minch.

He is survived by his wife, Grace and two devoted children, Donna Kosty Notaro and her husband, Ronald and Christopher Kosty and his wife, Joyce. He is also survived by four loving grandchildren, Nicole Notaro Hankers and her husband, William, Chase Kosty and his wife, Samantha, Cory Notaro and his wife Lauren and Chelsea Kosty Murphy and her husband, Colin.  

6 Great-grandchildren added another generation of happiness to his life: Allison Hankers, Emily Hankers, Chase Kosty, Jr, Leo Kosty, Elisabeth Notaro and Hayes Notaro.

He also leaves many friends and extended family.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Rd, Edison, NJ. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Funeral Blessing to follow at the Funeral Home. Burial at Hazelwood Cemetery, Rahway, NJ.
