Patricia “Patti” Clara Willmott, age 97, formerly of the Silverton Section of Toms River, NJ, passed
away peacefully on Sunday, October 31, 2021 surrounded by her son & daughter-in-law; George & Linda
and her granddaughter, Jennie. Patricia was born and raised in Weehawken and graduated from high
school in 1941, where she was an avid cheerleader and basketball player. Shortly after graduation,
Patricia enlisted in the United States Navy where she proudly served her country as an apprentice
seaman.
Patricia married her truest of loves, Deputy Chief George Francis Willmott on January 12, 1947. Patricia
and George had two sons and later in years, relocated to Toms River, NJ where they lived out the rest of
their lives, together.
In addition to being a mother and a Naval Veteran, Patricia was also a member of the Ladies Police
Auxiliary of Toms River.
Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and an adoring great grandmother. Preceded in death
by her husband George Willmott, parents Lester and Clara Cosgrove, sister Bernice Lawson and brothers
Lester and Dennis Cosgrove. She is survived by her son Jeffrey and his wife Leslie, her son George and
his wife Linda, her granddaughter Jennie and her husband Todd and her two great grandchildren; Olivia
and Blake. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews that know her best as “Fun Aunt Patti”!
A private military ceremony in Patricia’s honor will be held for the immediate family, at the Brigadier
General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
