Olga Ramos, 78, of Colonia, NJ peacefully passed away at home on the morning of October 17, 2025. She was surrounded by those she laughed with, lived for and loved.
Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on February 26, 1947 to Nicolas Ramos & Natividad Acevedo. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She was a high school Spanish Literature teacher in Puerto Rico. She was also a seamstress; made custom clothing, beautiful wedding dresses, among many other items. She enjoyed making clothes for her daughters as well, many times matching outfits.
Olga moved with her family to Perth Amboy NJ in 1987, then moved to Edison, NJ in 1992 until the passing of her husband. where she then moved to Colonia, NJ.
A devoted Christian, she always put her faith in God. Always optimistic, full of hope, she never viewed anything as impossible because God always provides.
A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend she would always make time when needed. She took care of her husband when he fell ill, helped raise her grandchildren, and helped those in need.
Olga is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Angel) and Shalimar. She is also survived by her 4 cherished grandchildren, Army Staff Sergeant Raymond Ortega, Michael, Matthew and Natalia; her brothers, Edwin (Minerva) & Hector; and many nieces & nephews, extended family and close friends.
Olga was preceded in death by her mother Natividad, her father, Nicolas, her brother, Eliezer and her loving husband of 42 years, Ramon.
