Nicholas "Nicola" Sapia

Nicholas Sapia, of Edison died Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Trinitas Hospital-Brother Bonaventure, Elizabeth, NJ. He was born in Vallata, Italy coming to the US in 1958. He resided in Elizabeth before moving to Edison in 1982.

Nicholas worked at GAF in Linden in warehouse inventory for 30 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Vallatese Association in Elizabeth and served in the Italian Military.  

He was predeceased by his brothers Vito and Gerardo Sapia and his sister Maria Paternostro. Surviving are his wife of 61 years Geraldine Sapia, his children Michael Sapia, Nicholas Sapia Jr., and his wife Melissa and Paula Paz and her husband Carlos; his grandchildren Maria Gabriel and her husband Michael, Girolamo Scaturro and his wife Stefanie, Diana Scaturro and her fiancée Nelson Eusebio, Michael Jr., Julia, Joseph and Katie Sapia also 4 great grandchildren Adriana, Rocco, Santino and Michael. Nicholas is also survived by his sisters Assunta Bove, Incornata Cerullo and Antoinetta Mercadante.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at the Gosselin Funeral home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Blessing will be held on Thursday, January 17 at 11:00AM at the funeral home.  Entombment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
