Natalie Kril Obituary

On November 9, 2021, Natalie Kril peacefully passed away at Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. She was 98 years old.

Natalie led a long life and storied life. She was born in 1923 in Tamurka, Bessarabia in Romania to August and Rosalie, originally from Germany. Natalie was one of six children. During World War II, the family was resettled to West Prussia in Poland, but as Russian forces advanced, the family had to escape to Bremerhaven, Germany where they lived until 1947. They then moved to Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany and Natalie and her sister found work on a farm. In 1951, Natalie met her future husband, Michael, in Germany while awaiting entry to a US Army ship carrying emigrees to the United States. Michael was a soldier in the US Army deployed during the Korean conflict in Germany at this time, and they decided to write to each other once Natalie resettled in Clinton, OK to live with her cousins. While living in Clinton, Natalie worked as a nurse’s aide in an area hospital. Once Michael was discharged from the Army, Michael and Natalie were married, and Natalie moved to Newark, NJ. They welcomed their first child, Jean in 1953, and their second child, Cynthia in 1962. The family resided in Hillside, NJ until 1970, and then moved to Edison, NJ, where Natalie lived for 51 years. Natalie, along with her husband, Michael, was a business owner. They, along with their partners, owned Tacson’s Bakery in Linden, NJ from 1965 until 1991, both retiring shortly thereafter.

Natalie’s hobbies and interests first and foremost included spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren. She attended church frequently in her younger years and read the bible nearly every day. She was also an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the NY Yankees on TV. She was a wonderful cook, and loved cooking and baking for family and friends, especially during the holiday.

Natalie is survived by her daughters Jean Chambers and Cynthia Rose, as well as three grandchildren, Colleen Chambers, Paul Rose, Matthew Rose, one great-granddaughter, Coralee Chambers, her sister, Alma Andraschek, many nieces and nephews in Germany, and several cousins in Oklahoma. She is predeceased by her husband, Michael Kril, her granddaughter, Elizabeth Chambers, and her son-in-law, Edward Chambers.
