Min Yeung Lee

Min Yeung Lee, age 85 of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, went to be with the Lord
unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Sept 2, 2024. He was a faithful servant of God,
devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother.
One of his greatest joys was family. He is survived by his beloved wife (Hae Kyung),
children (John, Anne, Oogie, and Sarah), and grandchildren (Nathan, Joel, Elizabeth,
Soung Hyun, Shane, Jacob, Zoie, Q’Baum, Maiya, and Jadon).
Min Yeung was born on September 7, 1938, in Daegu, South Korea. He attended
Kyungpook National University and became a pharmacist in his home country. After
meeting his wife and starting a family, he sacrificed his pharmaceutical career to
immigrate to the US in hopes of giving his family a better future and education. After a
brief stay in Indiana, Min and his family settled in New Jersey where he became a
chemist for Engelhard Corporation.
He was an accomplished athlete and musician. He grew up actively playing baseball
and soccer well into his adulthood. He mastered almost every brass instrument and
loved to sing. While in Korea, Min sang in well-known choirs. He continued this passion
in the US singing in the Peniel Choir in New York for over a decade with his wife. Min
and Hae were both active members of the church choir until his passing.
He was a gentle soul who consistently exemplified kindness and humility. Min was
known for his genuine smile and selfless caring for others, even in his health struggles.
He had a great sense of humor and chose to give everyone a smile to comfort those
around him. He was a man of sacrifice who always prioritized the happiness of others,
especially his family. He loved being a husband, father, and grandfather and he
cherished every moment with them. His family was his pride and joy as he led them with
a servant’s heart. He loved spending time with his 10 grandchildren and helped in any
way he could with his children’s growing families over the past 2 decades. He is leaving
behind a legacy of a servant’s heart filled with sacrificial love modeled after Jesus whom
he loved.
The viewing service will be held on Friday, September 6 at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660
New Dover Road, Edison, NJ (Viewing 6:00-7:30pm and Service 7:30-9:00pm).
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7 at Calvary Tabernacle
Church, 69b Myrtle Street, Cranford, NJ (10:00am-12:00pm).
Burial Service will be held on Saturday, September 7 at Hazelwood Cemetery, 64 Lake
Avenue, Colonia, NJ (12:30pm).
