In Loving Memory of Mikulas Billik
Mikulas Billik passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 76, after battling
an aggressive cancer.
A devoted and beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Mikulas found his greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures – tending to his garden, sharing laughs with his grandchildren, and spending time with his beloved wife of over 50 years, Anna. His hands were rarely still, whether planting tomatoes, fixing something around the house, or babysitting his grandkids. He could be found enjoying a Czech beer in his backyard at the end of a busy day spent in his garden.
Mikulas was born in Kamienka, Czechoslovakia, the fourth of five boys. Mikulas left Kamienka for Karvina to pursue his livelihood in the coal mines before emigrating to the United States with his wife and two daughters in December 1980. Mikulas rebuilt his life in the US, dedicating 30 years to General Motors. He led by example through hard work, integrity, grit, and a wry sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Anna Billik; his daughters, Diana Billik (and husband Julien Bacus) and Tatiana Cantwell (and husband Michael Cantwell); and his granddaughters, Emma Bacus, Alienor Bacus, Maddie Cantwell, and Victoria Cantwell.
Mikulas’ presence in our lives was a gift, and his absence will be deeply felt. To honor Mikulas’s memory, plant something beautiful in the garden and watch it grow or raise a cold beer at the end of a long day and savor the simple joys he never took for granted.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th at Gosselin Funeral Home, 9am-11am
