Michelle Bongard

Michelle (Baumle) Bongard, passed away July 16, 2023 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ as her children joined her side after a brief illness.

Michelle was born in Plainfield, NJ to Eleanor (Chapman) and Frederick Baumle. Michelle was a graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Edison, NJ. She worked for over 35years as a baker and manager for A&P and then for Foodtown.

Michelle enjoyed visiting with her grandsons who always put a smile on her face and spoiling them with lots of sweets and candy. She enjoyed taking her beloved chihuahua Penny for walks, being outdoors in the sunshine and swimming. Her favorite color was purple and she also loved to watch the Food Network channel and cooking huge meals for her family.

Michelle is survived by her twin son and daughter: Douglas Jr.(Milly), Lacey Kohutich (Tommy), and her four grandsons Joshua, Justin, Noah and Lucas. She is predeceased by her parents, Eleanor and Frederick and step-father, George. She is also survived by her siblings Christopher, Peter and Adrienne and their spouses, many nieces and nephews, and predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Fred.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 21 from 4-8 pm at Gosselin Funeral, 660 New Dover Road in Edison, NJ 08820. Interment will be held on Saturday, July 22 at Saint Gertrude’s Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue in Colonia at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Woodbridge Animal Shelter as Michelle loved cats and dogs. 

Michelle will be dearly missed by her family and the many people that she touched during her life.
