Michael (Doc) Burzinski, 69, a lifelong resident of Edison, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 8, 2022. Michael was a graduate of John P. Stevens High School and after 25 years, retired from the Edison Police Department in 2007. Prior to joining the police department, he was a mechanic for Porsche/Audi until 1982.
Michael loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and his Vespa. He was an avid photographer who loved exploring New York City. Michael was a member of the New Jersey Honor Legion and Edison PBA.
Michael is predeceased by his parents Marcel and Sophie Burzinski and his sister Joan Thompson. He is survived by his wife Carol (Fennell) of 48 years, his daughter Valerie of Edison, his son Michael of Edison, his son David and wife Salam of Florida, and his three grandchildren, Christian, Lily, and Matthew. He is also survived by his sister Roberta Thompson of Edison and his mother-in-law Rose Dudics of Florida.
Visitation will take place Friday June 17th from 5-9PM at the Gosselin Funeral Home at 660 New Dover Road Edison.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday June 18th at 9:30AM at the Gosselin Funeral Home.
Funeral mass will take place on Saturday June 18th at St. Helena's Church at 10:30AM at 950 Grove Avenue in Edison.
Interment will follow mass at St. Gertrude Cemetery at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org) in his name.
