Mary Catherine Maurer

Mary Catherine Maurer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison on March 9, 2023, with her family by her side. She lived a long life to the age of 84.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Pauline Stefanac, brother John Stefanac, and son John Maurer. Mary is survived by her husband, Bob of 64 years; daughter Laura Reeves (Jeffrey); son Bob Maurer (Susan); son Michael Maurer (Dawn); and daughter-in-law Kim Maurer. Mary also leaves behind a brother, Michael Stefanac, 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and many more family members and friends whom she loved dearly.

Mary worked at PNC bank for over 20 years. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was everything to Mary. She loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and would smile when she was around them. Mary loved to crochet and made many blankets for her family and friends. She enjoyed being with her cousins in upstate New York and spending time on their farm. Mary was a wonderful cook. Mary loved listening to music and watching baseball games. She loved to travel to places like Hawaii, Mexico, Croatia, Germany, and Florida.

Her memory and her love will live on eternally in the hearts and minds of the ones who loved her.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 14th from 3:00 – 7:00 PM and Wednesday, March 15th from 9:30 -10:30 AM at Gosselin’s Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 15th at 11:00 AM at St. Cecelia’s Church, 45 Wilus Way, Iselin, NJ. Interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ.
