Mary Lodato

Mary Lodato, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at her home in Colts Neck.  Born in Newark, Mary moved to Colonia in the mid 60’s, where she raised her family with her loving husband, Carmen, who predeceased her in 1986.  Mary then moved to Colts Neck with her daughter and family where she lived out her remaining years helping raise her beloved grandson, Joshua, attending weekly activities and events at the Colts Neck Senior Center, playing cards with friends, crocheting layette sets, and watching her favorite shows on the Game Show Channel. 

Surviving are her children, Anthony Lodato and Regina Penn, son-in-law James Penn, daughter-in-law Deborah Lodato, her three grandchildren, Joshua Penn, Ashley Lodato, and Ryan Lodato.  Also surviving are her nieces Phyllis Ruchalski and Caroline Dombrowski. 

Mary was also pre-deceased by her parents, Joseph and Caroline Bisceglia, her brother, Dominic Bisceglia, and sister Nicoletta Bisceglia.

The Funeral Mass will be Monday, November 9, 2020, 10:45 AM, at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, 420 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ followed by interment at Saint Gertrude’s Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions everyone is asked to respect the blocked seats and pew spacing while in attendance at church.  Also because of Covid restrictions, the family will not hold a re-pass following interment. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mary’s loving memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
