Martina G. Parauda, 94, of Edison, New Jersey passed away on March 25, 2026, at JFK Medical Center; she died peacefully surrounded by her family.
Martina was born in Uxbridge, Massachusetts to Edward and Martina Grady on February 29, 1932. Martina always enjoyed being a Leap Year baby, throwing a party for herself every four years. She graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston, Massachusetts in 1953, where she spent time at Fenway Park, seeing her beloved Red Sox. Martina enjoyed crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, spending time with her children, grandchildren, d great grandchild; she was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. She lived in Edison for 62 years and was an active member of St. Helena’s Roman Catholic Church.
Martina was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, and granddaughter Carly. She is survived by her eight children: Martina, John (Gretchen), Mary (Ray), Joseph (Tracie), Thomas (Christine), James, Robert (Angela), and Mark (Heather), and eighteen grandchildren: Elliot, Sarah (Max), Luke, Nicholas (Colleen), Max, Sam, Rosemary (Christopher), Anya (Liam), Maia, Julia, Peter, Olivia, Christopher, Seamus, Charlotte, Natalie, George, and Connor, and her one great-grandchild, Carol.
Visitation will be held at Gosselin’s Funeral Home in Edison, NJ on Monday March 30th from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Helena’s Church on March 31st at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
