Marie C McSorley

Marie McSorley, formerly of Iselin, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 30 at Complete Care at Whispering Woods Assisted Living at the age of 92 years young.

Marie was born in Spain and loved to tell the story of how she ate ice cream for the first time while traveling to America. She grew up in Bayonne before moving to Iselin with her husband and children.

Marie was a homemaker, avid gardener, and excellent cook. Her greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren. She was a voracious reader, especially of Harlequin Romance novels, and enjoyed traveling the world. She adored shopping; her husband would tell her she would be a Gold Medalist if shopping were an Olympic sport.

Marie is predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Raymond.  She is survived by her three adoring children, Deborah Strachan (James), Richard, and John (Denise), four grandchildren, Julie (Matthew), Katie (Daniel), Rebecca(Cameron) and Brandon, four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Madelyn, Magnolia and Cooper, her brother, Joseph Troncoso (Lorraine), many nieces and nephews, and honorary daughter, Carol.

Visitation will be held at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ on Thursday, April 3 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 4 at St. Helena Church, 950 Grove Avenue, Edison at 10:00 a.m. with interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ.

The family is eternally grateful for the love, care and kindness shown by staff at Whispering Woods.
