Marie R George

Marie R. George, 100, of Colonia, NJ sadly passed away on May 11, 2026 at The Mattison Crossing Assisted Living Facility in Freehold, NJ where she resided in the last two months.

Marie was born in Queens, NY on October 18, 1925, there she was raised by her parents and grandparents. She then married the love of her life, Gus George at the young age of 20 and eventually moved to Iselin, NJ with their children. Afterwards looking for a larger home, they found their forever home in Colonia. There Marie loved to cook delicious meals for her family, especially Sunday dinners, and baking her famous chocolate chip cookies. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her four children — Georgana Scarangello and her husband Frank, Gary George and his wife Elaine, Richard George and his wife Terri, and Judith Ferrara and her husband Steve.

She is also survived by her six grandchildren Tom George, Kristy  Drobik, Lori Holzhauer, Chris George, Cheryl Wall, Stephanie Ferrara and their spouses and her nine great grandchildren. Cassie, Emma, Jake, Colton, Riley, Charlie, Jackson, Olivia, and Benjamin.

Marie is predeceased by her husband Gus and her two sisters, Josephine Lauria and Frances Mart.

She was always a beacon of light, always putting her family first. The love she gave was unconditional, and she will truly be missed.
