Marian Joan Jaeger (nee Wanca), 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 24, 2021.
Marian lived in Colonia, NJ, for 63 years. She was born in Bayonne, NJ and moved to Avenel, NJ as a child. She was a graduate of Woodbridge High School and attended Art school in Newark, NJ. Marian had a lifelong love of art, design and food and was an expert seamstress and gourmet cook. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and having lavish dinner parties. Marians talent as a seamstress was remarkable. She lovingly made her young children clothing, made gowns and dresses for special occasions and even handmade her daughters wedding gowns. She was an amazingly talented woman. Marian is a past employee of Amerada Hess Corporation, Woodbridge, NJ, before retiring.
Marian married William Jaeger in 1958. They raised five children, had ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and were expecting a fourth great grandchild due in January 2022. She was a devout Catholic and founding member of St. John Vianney R.C. Church in Colonia.
She is predeceased by her parents, Frank Wanca and Marie Petrin Wanca, and a brother, William T. Wanca.
Surviving are her children and sons-in-law and daughter-in-law, Ann Jaeger, Susan O’Leary (Thomas), Barbara Cannamela (Frank), Lisa Tavares (Mac), and William Jaeger (Eugenia); 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to pay respects at Gosselin Funeral Home in Edison, NJ on July 28th from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John Vianney Church in Colonia, NJ on July 29th at 9:30 am.
