Maria Lo Franco

Maria Lo Franco passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born in Cuccaro Vetere, Salerno, Italy before immigrating to America in 1970.  She lived in Elizabeth for 30 years before moving to Edison in 2000.

Maria was a selfless and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She always took care of her family before herself. She spent the last 10 years lovingly helping to care for her grandchildren.

Maria enjoyed cooking and baking.  She was a long time cook with Pomptonian Food Service working in the Linden Public Schools for over 20 years.

She was predeceased by her parents Paul and Paola Lombardi.  She is survived by her husband of 43 years Vincenzo Lo Franco, her daughter and son-in-law Alisa and Dominick Petruso, her son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Rossella Lo Franco, her grandchildren Isabella, Gabriella, Valentina and Vincenzo, her brother and sister-in-law Pietro and Carmela Lombardi and her sister and brother-in-law Rita and Vincent Miceli.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.  A funeral mass will be held at St. Helena's Church, 950 Grove Ave. Edison NJ at 11:00 am, live-streaming is available at sthelenaedison.org/our-church. Immediately followed by interment at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave, Colonia NJ.
