Margaret “Margie” Bovasso passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Community Hospital in Toms River, New Jersey. She was 96 years old.
Born On December 1, 1925, in Jersey City to the late Thomasand Helen Dolan, she then resided in Avenel for many years before moving to Marlton and Forked River, NJ.
Mrs. Bovasso, also known as Ma, Aunt Margie, and Nanny to all those who loved her worked as an Egg Candler in Kearny as well as provided cleaning services with her husband John before retiring many years ago.
She was known for her cooking, baking and meticulous cleaning ability. Every meal she cooked could feed an entire army and was enjoyed by all every holiday she could host.
Margie’s smile could light up an entire room, her infectious laugh was undeniable, and she cracked jokes up until her very last moments with family.
In addition to her parents Thomas and Helen Dolan, she is predeceased by her husband John Bovasso, in 2006 as well as her sister Helen Winters and her brother Thomas Dolan.
Surviving are her daughter Carol Szemborski and her husband Ray Szemborski of Barnegat; four grandchildren Raymond Szemborski, Kevin Szemborski and his wife Christine, Amy Coviello and her husband Paul, Amanda Edwards, and her husband Stephen; nine great grandchildren, Sabrina, Amaya, Abigail, Ashley, Braden, Ryleigh, Averie, Justin, and Jaelyn.
Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday May 3, 2022, from 10:30 am until 12:30pm, at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, New Jersey. Intermentwill be held at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, US Highway 1 North, Woodbridge, NJ at 1:30pm.
