                     “Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather and proud WW ll Veteran”

 

We are sad to announce the passing of Louis Maisto on March 10,2019 at the age of 99.

Born in Norristown, PA, he grew up in Newark, NJ and was a long-time resident of Edison, NJ. After retiring from Fedders Corporation in 1987 as a production supervisor, he moved to Port St. Lucie, FL becoming a faithful parishioner of St. Lucie Catholic Church, returning to Edison, NJ in 2016.

He was the oldest of ten children in a very close family and a loving husband and father who cherished time with family.

With great love for his country, he was a proud WWII Army veteran serving in the European theater and in the Military Police.

He enjoyed hosting weekend barbeques at the Edison house telling family to "Come mangia at the Ponderosa".

He enjoyed playing the organ, watching baseball, football and horse racing.  A long-time member of the Loyal Order of the Moose lodge # 513 Port St. Lucie, FL, he enjoyed playing billiards and was a valued player in the pool league.

His home-made pasta fagioli soup and perfect pancakes made from scratch were always family favorites..

He is predeceased by his parents Dominic and Mary (nee Alamia) Maisto, wives Marie ( nee Petrozello ) in 1987 and Angela ( nee Ippolitto ) in 2017, brothers Anthony and Arthur, sister Josephine Smith and grandson Dominick L. Maisto Jr.  He is survived by his sons Dominick L. and wife Diana of Branchburg, NJ  and James of Edison, NJ, sisters Rose Cordasco of Barnegat, NJ , Anna Contaldi of Boca Raton, FL and Norma Manfredi of Asbury Park, NJ, brothers Mario of Iselin, NJ, Remo of South Orange, NJ and Gilbert of Middlesex, NJ. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation Wednesday March 13, 2019 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Gosselin Funeral Home 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Blessing Thursday March 14, 2019 11:00am at the funeral home.
