Liberato "Albert" DeLeone

Liberato “Albert” DeLeone of Iselin, NJ passed away on April 23, 2025 in Edison, NJ at HMH JFK University Medical Center.

“Albert” was born in Newark, NJ to Bernardino and Lucy DeLeone in 1942. He went to Essex County Vocational and Technical High School and graduated in 1963. He went on to earn a certificate at Rutgers University completing courses on in-House Hazardous Material Transportation while working as a Warehouse Supervisor for the first half of his career. Albert received the PIAC Achievement Award for Rhone Poulenc – Specialty Chemicals Division for his Specialty Training for Water Soluble Polymers Paints, Inks, Adhesives and Construction. The Second Half of his career Albert obtained A+ Certification in Computer Technology from Middlesex County College and became a Computer Technician working for Entex, Siemens and Atos. He enjoyed providing music and singing at celebrations for family and friends and was given the name D.J. Al. His other joy was cooking stuffed artichokes and eggplant and baking Italian cookies and butter cookies to celebrate the holidays. He also loved seeing people enjoy eating Italian pastries with him.

Albert was a loving and devoted Husband and Dad and such a shining light to all who knew him. Albert was most happy when he was surrounded by all the friends and family in his life and to Albert his friends were family and meant the world to him. Albert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Regina DeLeone, his children Sherry Clark (husband Walter) and Gina Marie Gazitano (husband Mark), his brother Joseph DeLeone (partner Carol), his nephew Richard Kulburg Jr. (wife Lauren) niece Melanie Hopping (children Jason, Justin and Jenna), niece Marlana DeLeone, nephew Joseph DeLeone (wife Rachel, their son Roman) sister in-law Nancy Chapman, sister in-law Susan Prescott (husband Keith) nephew Benjamin Chapman (wife Lena, children Aleaha and Norah), niece Jennifer Chapman (children Jacob and Madison), niece Kelly Prescott (husband Michael), and nephew Steven Prescott (wife Rachael). He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dolores Kulburg Egusquiza, his brother Henry DeLeone, his nephew Dean Kulburg, his brother-in-law Scott Chapman, his brother-in-law Richard Kulburg Sr. and nephew-in-law Robert Hopping.

Visitation will be held in Edison, NJ on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Gosselin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at St. Cecelia Roman Catholic Church in Iselin, NJ on Saturday May 3, 2025 at 8:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Saint Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum in Colonia, NJ.
