Laura was born on July 18, 1951 in West Orange, New Jersey and moved to Colonia as a child. She was a graduate of Colonia High School and attended Overlook Hospital School of Nursing where she received her LPN. She started her nursing career at JFK Medical Center. Laura continued to advance her education by becoming an RN, with associate degree from Middlesex County College, then completed her BSN degree at Cook College at Rutgers University in Public Health. Her nursing career included positions on specialty units such as telemetry and maternity units. She managed a urology unit as Nurse Manager then accepted a position as Diabetic Educator at JFK Medical Center. On her departure from JFK, she coordinated patient care in a fertility clinic, and managed pharmaceutical clinical trial studies at Daiichi-Sankyo. Laura enjoyed traveling and visiting NYC, especially around the holidays. She spent a great deal of time at the Jersey shore with her family and with her mom. She loved life-long learning as she continued to pursue interesting non-nursing courses. She loved movies, socializing with friends, traveling and dancing. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Metuchen. Laura will be remembered as outgoing and fun to be with. She was a good friend and will be missed by many.
