Lai Chi Lam

It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Lai Chi Lam, age 90 of Colonia NJ.  Lai Chi passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of February 11, 2025 after a brief illness.  Lai Chi was born in Hong Kong on September 25, 1934.  He enjoyed playing soccer as a child and married Oi Kwan Cheung in 1962. 

Lai Chi and Oi Kwan moved to the United Kingdom a month after their wedding, with Lai Chi working as a restaurant manager.  The couple immigrated to the United States in 1968 and continued in the restaurant business, opening one in Elizabeth NJ.  They moved to Colonia NJ in 1978 and settled there for the next 47 years.  Lai Chi was an avid tennis player and enjoyed following the Financial Markets.  

He is pre-deceased by his mother Pui Kwan Ho and father Hang Lam.  He is survived by his wife Oi Kwan, daughter Grace Mayer, son in law Mark Mayer, son Dennis, daughter in law Debbie, daughter Anita Schlosser, son in law Kevin Schlosser, grandchildren Nick, Anthony and Ryan.
