Kevin Sullivan was born on March 24th, 1956, to Florance (Flip) and Karin (Chickie) Sullivan nee Wessman in Haverstraw, New York and was a cherished son, brother, husband, father and friend. Kevin passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2023.
He graduated from Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia, NY where he developed a passion for running as he participated in cross country and hurdling events. He studied at Fordham University, where he majored in finance. He later graduated from Columbia University where he obtained his Master’s degree.
He started his career as a Fixed Income Analyst for the New York City Pension Funds in the Bureau of Investments where he met his wife. May. He later became a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Lehman Management Company and then moved to Orion Capital to manage their Fixed Income Assets.
In 1988, he married May Mahr and they had 2 children, Katherine and Robert. Kevin enjoyed scuba diving and became a Dive Master and took diving trips to the Caribbean and Hawaii. When his children were very young, he enjoyed taking them to the playgrounds, movies and the circus. He volunteered as a Den leader for cub scouts when Robert enrolled, and continued to volunteer afterwards teaching scuba diving to the cub scouts that followed. In his spare time, he read books, especially history books and military history. He also loved horseback riding, and in his later years, volunteered for GallopNYC, an organization that teaches horseback riding to disabled youth and adults.
Kevin was also an avid sports fan, and was very happy taking Robert to all his Little League games, basketball and soccer. He loved watching the Yankees, Giants, and Knicks.

He is survived by his loving wife, May Mahr, children,Katherine and Robert Sullivan, mother, Karin(Chickie) Sullivan, siblings, Tim, Karin, and Michael (Rob) Sullivan (Eileen), in addition to nephews Michael (Kathleen) and Chris (Amelia). He was predeceased by his father, Florance (Flip). They will miss him very much.
The funeral will be held on December 9th, at GosselinFuneral Home in Edison NJ, at 10am-12:15pm followed by lunch at DimSum Seafood Restaurant located in Avenel, NJ.
