Kathleen Mary Ostapiej

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kathleen Ostapiej, a dedicated and compassionate nurse, who departed this world on September 7, 2024. Born in 1959, she graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Over her remarkable 25-year career at Hackensack University Medical Center, she made a profound impact in Labor and Delivery and Maternal Fetal Medicine. Later, she served as an Assistant Director of Nursing and Hospice Nurse at Grace HealthCare and found great fulfillment as a Nurse Educator at Lincoln Tech in her later years.

Kathleen was a beloved wife to Thomas and a devoted mother to Daniel and Isabella. She is predeceased by her parents, Louis and Joan Iorio. She is survived by her cherished brothers:  Anthony and his wife Donna, and their children Sarah and Allison; Louis and his wife Tina, and their three children Mark, Katherine, and Jenna.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in honor of Kathleen's lifelong commitment to caring for others.

Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched, the laughter she created, and the love she shared with her family and friends.  She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The viewing  will be held on Wednesday, September 11 at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660
New Dover Road, Edison, NJ from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm;  Blessing will be 12:00pm at the funeral home immediately followed by the Burial Service at Saint Gertrude Cemetery and Mausoleum, 53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ.
