Kathleen Marie (Boyle) Katz

Kathleen Marie Katz, age 48, of Edison, NJ, passed away Monday August 18, 2025, at her home. She was the beloved wife of Michael David Katz, who was at her side when she passed.

She was born November 17, 1976, in Beaumont, Texas. ‍Kathy is survived by her husband, her loving parents, John Charles Boyle and Sally Jean Boyle, her step mom Joan Boyle, her sisters Aileen Mitchell, Maureen Boyle, and Lisa Scuderi Vannoy, her brother Greg Boyle, and her niblings Angela Mitchell, Ender Mitchell, Trevor Simoes, Nate Simoes and Cole Scuderi Vannoy. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will deeply miss her.

Kathy grew up in Edison, NJ, attending Edison High School and Rutgers University. Those who loved her remember her fierce intelligence, empathetic heart, and magnetic personality. She shared a love of sports, especially the New York Mets and Kansas City Chiefs, with her family, always ready to jump into a good sports debate. She loved poetry and literature and was more well read by 20 than most will achieve in their lives. Her deep love and appreciation for music was infectious and shaped the collections of so many people around her.

Kathy recently celebrated her 10 year anniversary with her husband Mike, who loved her for her fierce intelligence, unwavering emotional support, and humor. She made him a compendium of their favorite songs that made the heartfelt soundtrack of their first decade together.

Kathy was a deeply empathetic person which gave her a special ability to be there for her loved ones in hard times. As we grapple with the loss of her physical presence, we find solace in knowing that she is at peace.

Memorial donations may be made to the National Adrenal Disease Foundation in lieu of flowers.

Services will be held at Gosselin Funeral Home in Edison, NJ on Wednesday August 27th from 5-8 pm.
