Julian “Frank” Kowalski, 88, passed away on August 3, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born in 1934 to Lillian and Frank in Irvington, NJ. Frank enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1952 until 1956. He proudly served various assignments in locations such as Japan, Philippines, Hawaii and California. He then joined the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #25 in Carlstadt, NJ. Frank and Joan got married in 1960 and welcomed two beautiful daughters, Sandy and Gail. Frank worked at Schtiller & Plevy for several decades before retiring in the mid-90s.
He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to flea markets. Frank was the epitome of a handy-man and was able to fix just about anything. He cherished his four grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Tomy and Sarah. He loved spending time with his beloved dog, Sally.
Frank was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Frank and by his brother, Donald.
He leaves behind to mourn him, his two daughters Sandy (Fred) and Gail (Paul). He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Tomy and Sarah as well as his former wife, Joan.
Visitation will take place on Saturday August 6th from 4-8PM at the Gosselin Funeral Home at 660 New Dover Road Edison, NJ. Military honors will take place at 7PM followed by a blessing.
